I made this sculpture in Paula Rice’s workshop, Reinventing the figure, using her building and firing techniques. This piece was made very quickly using paper clay I had brought with me. It is more narrative, southern narrative even, than the works I made especially for the thesis exhibition.
I used this image on my thesis exhibition card. It was also included in the NCECA 2001 Regional Student Juried Exhibition.
